Our client Godwin Nnamchi wanted to use our Auto Classifieds Script for listing both car classified ads and car parts. In order to accommodate these additional functional requirements, we had to make several custom modifications to the car dealer software:

  • We have added a dropdown field in the back-end "Cars" menu from which the admin can select the classified ad type: Car / Car Part. If the Car Part is selected, the admin has to specify the following details:

- Name (Title)

- Cars and models it suitable for

- Make (Brand name)

- Type

- Short description

- Weight

- Type (New/Used)

- Date Manufactured

- Price

- Images

  • On the front-end Parts are listed on a separate page. The Search box on the Parts page now filters the parts by the criteria (details) listed above.


    Auto classifieds - custom parts search

 

  • Vendors can add Cars and Parts directly from the front-end and register at the same time. They just have to fill in a few of the fields for the Car / Part (make, model, title, etc.) along with their personal details. Thus, when Vendors add a Car / Part, their accounts are created automatically. After they submit the "Registration" form, they are automatically logged into the admin panel so they can enter all additional details about their Cars / Parts.
